We had a pretty busy weekend mostly spent outdoors. There is a lot of yard work to be done on our almost 1 acre of land so it's a nice feeling of accomplishment! We tilled the garden Friday night and again on Saturday. I've planted a lot of bulbs & even a tree. Logan & Hayden stood beside it & I took their picture. I'm hoping take a picture every year so we can show how much they've grown & how much the tree has grown! The toys in the yard were picked up & the lawn got mowed (Logan steered the lawn mower while I controlled the gas & mower deck for a good amount of time). I cut rhubarb & made a strawberry rhubarb pie (yum!!). I'm also hoping to get some raspberry plants going this year. Now, if only we had some fruit trees I'd be set!
We had some asparagus growing in the garden & my husband made me dig them up so that we could till the garden & I think I've managed to kill them as I didn't get them transplanted right away. :/ I'm hoping maybe next year we can get some more plants and try again.
We grilled out almost all weekend. The weather has been incredible here!
We did have to miss a dear friend's wedding because Hayden got the flu Thursday night & I didn't want to chance accidentally giving it to the bride & groom! I was saddened to not make it because we really wanted to see their beautiful wedding & help them celebrate! I know the kids would have really enjoyed it also.
This week will be spent with me cleaning the house because we have family coming to our house for my brother's college graduation. I need to get rooms ready for people to stay, get the camper set up for guests, & the kitchen needs a good scrubbing!
So I will go play Cinderella & hope to post again soon! Thanks for reading.
